Soeben hat ATI eine neue Version des Grafikkarten- treibers Catalyst veröffentlicht. Mit Version 6.6 wird die Avivo Video Converter Extension, welche bereits aus der Version 6.4 bekannt ist, verbessert und eine Unter- stützung für den Theater 650 Pro TV Tuner Chip hinzugefügt.
Die Avivo Video Converter Extension ermöglicht das Umwandeln von Videos unter Windows XP Media Center Edition in folgende Formate: MPEG-2, MPEG-4 SP, MPEG-4 AVC und Windows Media. Als seperate Option steht die Umwandlung in das Videoformat für den iPod und die Playstation Portable (PSP) zur Verfügung.
Außerdem wurden einige Performanceverbesserungen für folgende Spiele vorgenommen: Far Cry, Fear und Splinter Cell. Zusätzlich werden mit dieser neuen Version auch zahlreiche kleinere Fehler behoben. Die komplette Liste aller Änderungen kann hier eingesehen werden:
