left-hand-doesn't-know-what-the-right-hand-is-doing bugs. Or put another
way, the hardest bugs and sometimes most blatant bugs are caused by
contributing factors. Allow me to summarize / explain.
A way was found for everyone on supported platforms (Win2K and WinXP) to use
Handwrite feature in MSN Messenger Beta. There was some confusion about
what exactly you needed to be able to use Handwrite. So, one of the biggest
support calls in the public beta was "what is Handwrite feature and how do I
get to use it?" In the managed beta (7.0.632) this dialog was created which
popped up a help topic that said, in effect, to use Handwrite feature
install the Microsoft Journal Viewer.
Now, there probably wasn't a lot of testing done between the combinations of
all version of Microsoft Journal Viewer and the betas of MSN Messenger.
Here's where you all come in and thank goodness for beta testers, who were
running MSN Messenger 7.0.632 right about the time that the Journal Viewer
had to do an upgrade. Which MSN Messenger probably didn't "play" with very
nicely.
So here's the summary on what is contributing to this issue:
1. Microsoft Journal Viewer has issued a new version.
2. MSN Messenger has a bug which we have to fix.
3. The interplay between the two was bad, especially this other bug "I can
scribble all over the Messenger UI" or "I can't get out of Handwrite mode
when in conversation with people who don't have Handwrite enabled".
maaaaaaaan leute habt ihr noch nie von www.mess.be gehört?
