In Kürze beginnt der Beta-Test von Xandros-Linux 2.0.
Xandros ist schon in der Version1 nach meiner Meinung eine der stärksten
Linux-Distributionen gewesen.
Hier die englische Presse-Erklärung:
New York,
August 5, 2003 - Xandros, Inc., today announced the opening of the beta
program for the 2.0 release of its award-winning Xandros Desktop. Users
interested in testing Xandros Desktop 2.0 are invited to apply at the Xandros
web site. Xandros is also looking for IT administrators considering mass
deployment of the Xandros Desktop to test the forthcoming release of Xandros
Networks Enterprise.
"We are excited to be nearing the final development phase of Xandros Desktop
2.0," said Dr. Frederick H. Berenstein, Co-Chairman of Xandros. "The product
will incorporate the latest version of KDE plus several unique innovations
from Xandros that will continue to simplify the work of corporate and home
users alike. We're equally excited to be nearing completion of the pilot phase
Xandros Networks Enterprise, which will take enterprise deployment and
administration of Xandros Desktop to a whole new level."
The beta programs are conducted to garner insight from potential users and to
assure that the forthcoming Xandros product releases meet the same stability
and ease of use standards set by Xandros Desktop 1.0. Xandros Desktop 2.0 is
slated for release in late 2003.
Linux users interested in participating in the 2.0 Beta Test Program should
visit the Xandros Web site at
xandros.com/beta.html From the applicants, Xandros will select a beta test
team that covers a broad assortment of hardware and deployment scenarios.
Enterprise IT managers seeking to test the desktop deployment and
administration tools in Xandros Networks Enterprise should go to
xandros.com/beta.html to answer
the questionnaire describing their existing environment and reasons for
potential deployment. Xandros is looking to test the enterprise tools for a
diversity of user requirements in corporate, educational, and governmental
settings. A minimum of 100 networked nodes is required.
