With version 3.15, F-Prot Antivirus for Windows takes advantage of the added features introduced by Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), to be released by Microsoft later this summer. In preparation for this release, FRISK Software has worked in close cooperation with Microsoft to provide smooth and seamless interaction with Windows XP SP2 and the new Security Center.

One of the most important new features introduced by version 3.15 of F-Prot Antivirus for Windows is an online update checking facility. The program can now automatically check for new available virus signature files at regular intervals, whenever the system is online. Also, with the program’s update status displayed conspicuously on the program’s startup, users can now see at a glance whether new virus signature files need to be downloaded. As a result, it is now considerably easier for users to ensure that their systems constantly remain as secure as possible against all new and emerging threats.
