Vista Transformation Pack 5.0 - XP im Vista-Look

Wie üblich, wenn die Oberfläche einer Windows-Beta mal wieder ein anderes Aussehen spendiert bekommt, setzen sich fleissige Geister daran, diese neu gestaltete Benutzeroberfläche auch für Windows XP verfügbar zu machen. So geschehen auch dieses Mal - ein Entwickler mit dem Nickname Windows X macht die aus der aktuellen Beta des kommenden Windows- Betriebssystems Vista bekannte Oberfläche mit Hilfe seines Windows Vista Transformation Packs verfügbar. Anlässlich seines Geburtstags stellte Windows X die neue Version heute zum Download bereit.

Das Paket setzt Windows XP mit Service Pack 2 voraus und installiert neue Symbole, Hintergrundbilder und Visual Styles, die auch einzeln im Internet erhältlich sind. Der Autor empfiehlt das Abschalten der auf dem System installierten Anti-Viren-Software um das Ersetzen von Dateien nutzen zu können.


Die wichtigste Neuerung in dieser Version dürfte neben den zahlreichen aktualisierten Grafiken vor allem die Update-Funktion sein, so dass zukünftige Ausgaben des Transformationspakets installiert werden können, ohne diese Version entfernen zu müssen.
