Questions about WPP product keys?
Product keys are unique identifiers that allow you to install Microsoft products. Product keys for the Windows XP Preview Program (WPP) will allow you to preview Windows XP for 180 days. If you registered for the WPP, you would have received your product key(s) one of several ways, depending on when you ordered and what type of product you selected:

  • If you ordered the RC1 download, your product key was listed in your original notification e-mail. This notification was sent to the e-mail address you used when registering for the program. This was the same e-mail that contained download information and instructions.

  • If you ordered the RC1 CD, your product key is printed on the CD package.

Note: By ordering RC1 (download or CD version), you are eligible to download RC2 as well. The same product key that you received for RC1 should be used to install RC2. Download instructions for RC1 CD customers were e-mailed to the address you used when registering.

  • If you placed a new order for the RC2 download (after RC1 was no longer available), your product key will be listed in your notification e-mail. This notification is sent to the e-mail address you used when registering for the program. This e-mail contains download information and instructions.
