Wireshark ist ein Tool zur Überwachung von Netzwerken, das auch von vielen Spezialisten eingesetzt wird. Es kann zur Fehlerbehebung, Netzwerkanalyse und auch zur Software- und Protokollentwicklung eingesetzt werden.
Die Software war früher unter dem Namen "Ethereal" bekannt und ist nun in Version 1.6.3 verfügbar.
