Winamp 5.57 bringt Support für Windows 7 mit

Die Entwickler aus dem Hause Nullsoft haben den Winamp-Nutzern heute ein verfrühtes Weihnachtsgeschenk gemacht. Die neue Version 5.57 bringt eine Reihe von Neuerungen und Verbesserungen mit.

Dazu gehört in erster Linie die Unterstützung von Windows 7. Der Multimedia-Player integriert sich nun in die Taskbar und nutzt die Vorschau-Funktion der Taskleiste. Zudem wurde die Verknüpfung unterschiedlicher Dateitypen mit Winamp verbessert.

Die Nutzer von Winamp Pro können sich über den Support für H.264-enkodierte Videos freuen. Dabei werden die Formate MP4, MKV und AVI unterstützt. In der Media Library werden die Metadaten der Videos nun korrekt ausgelesen, so dass die Organisation vereinfacht wird.

Die bereits im Sommer vorgestellte Add-Ons-Gallery kann jetzt direkt aus Winamp heraus genutzt werden. Außerdem haben die Entwicklung zahlreiche Fehler behoben und allgemeine Verbesserungen an der Stabilität und Geschwindigkeit vorgenommen.
