Yahoo Widget Engine 4.5 - Widgets für den Desktop

Widgets sind kleine Helferlein, die die unterschiedlichsten Informationen anzeigen können und für nahezu jeden Zweck erstellt werden können. So lassen sich mit dem Standard-Paket bereits das Wetter, die Uhrzeit, verschiedene Nachrichten und sogar Börsendaten anzeigen.


In Version 4.5 haben die Entwickler einige bedeutende Neuerungen vorgenommen. So können Widgets nun auch mit Hilfe von HTML oder Flash realisiert werden, was für deutlich mehr Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten sorgt. Außerdem soll die Software nun in Sachen Sicherheit besser gegen Angriffe gewappnet sein. Ausführliche Informationen zu den Änderungen, gibt es auf der Homepage der Entwickler.
